The Malaysian Timber Certification Council (MTCC) announced the appointment of Mr Dzul Affandi Mat Noor as its new Public Relations and Marketing Manager with effect from 2 July, replacing Mr Rajan Samikannoo, Senior Manager for PR and Marketing, who retired on 30 June 2018.
Dzul holds a Bachelor Degree in Social Science (Communications) from Universiti Malaysia Sabah. He brings to the organisation 10 years of relevant experience in the PR and Communications field after having served Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM), Intellectual Property Corporation Malaysia (MyIPO) and the European Union Delegation in Malaysia.
In this role, he will be responsible for managing MTCC’s PR programmes and marketing initiatives to raise awareness on the role of the PEFC-endorsed Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme (MTCS) in promoting sustainable forest management (SFM) and increase the market acceptance of the MTCS-certified timber products both in Malaysia and internationally.
MTCC also acknowledged the invaluable contribution of Mr Rajan during his two and a half years tenure at MTCC and wish him a happy retirement.
