MTCS Dispute Resolution Procedures

The MTCC wishes to inform that the 39th Meeting of the MTCC Board of Trustees held on 17 February 2009 has approved the adoption of the technical document DRP 1/2009 entitled Dispute Resolution Procedures, as the procedures for dealing with complaints, appeals and other disputes related to the operation of the Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme (MTCS).

The document DRP 1/2009 replaces the document GL 1/2008 entitled Procedure for the Investigation and Resolution of Complaints and Appeals. The document DRP 1/2009 is a result from a review carried out by MTCC with the view to strengthen the document GL 1/2008, particularly in the light of comments made and feedback received during the evaluation of the MTCS for endorsement by the PEFC Council.

The dispute resolution procedures as detailed in document DRP 1/2009 will take effect from 17 February 2009.
