The Fifth Meeting of the SRC was held from 9 to 11 December 2019 in Pulau Pinang, and was attended by a total of 21 participants comprising Members, Alternate Members and Observers.
The Meeting considered the feedback and comments received from the Public Consultation on Enquiry Draft of MC&I for Forest Management Certification which was held from 20 May to 19 July 2019, and produced the Final Draft standard which included the preamble, introduction, and definition of key terms, apart from the requirements of the standard.
At the end of the three-day meeting, the SRC adopted the MC&I Sustainable Forest Management (MC&I SFM) by consensus to replace the MC&I(Natural Forest) and MC&I Forest Plantation.v2 as the standard for certification of natural forest and forest plantation management in Malaysia.
