The Malaysian Timber Certification Council (MTCC) is a leading organisation championing sustainable forest management practices. We seek a passionate, high-calibre and strategic Senior Executive Public Relations and Marketing to join our mission.
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Public Relations and marketing, from crafting compelling press releases to managing media relations and developing a strategic website presence. You will also play a key role in building strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring effective engagement and information dissemination across various platforms.
Our ideal candidate is someone with experience in communication, handling public awareness/ marketing campaigns, and crisis communication.

Responsibilities | 1. Lead Strategic Communications and Marketing: Oversee team execution of agreed-upon publicity, promotion, and communication plans for MTCC’s certification schemes and activities. The SE will also be responsible to develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies across platforms to achieve MTCC’s goals. 2. Cultivate Stakeholder Engagement: The SE will lead the development and implementation of strategies for effective engagement and information dissemination with MTCC’s stakeholders, including FMU managers, industry associations, NGOs, and government agencies. 3. Build and Manage Strategic Relationships: The SE is responsible for cultivating and nurturing relationships professionally to maintain and honour relationships with key stakeholders, including other internal working unit, timber industry players, state governments, customers, and partners. The SE should develop communication plans for partnerships, fostering positive relationships and strategic alliances. 4. Develop Communication Materials: Create press releases, media kits, publications, reports, MTCC Annual Report, and other communication materials related to MTCC, its certification scheme and activities to ensure accurate and timely dissemination. 5. Manage and Maximise Media Relations: Lead media relations efforts, including pitching stories, building relationship with journalist and influencers, and securing positive press coverage for MTCC. 6. Conduct Media Monitoring: Conduct and analyse daily media monitoring of local and international news. 7. Oversee Exhibition & Trade Fair Participation: Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive strategy to achieve MTCC’s marketing and branding goals through participation in local and international exhibitions or fairs. 8. Develop Collaborative Marketing Strategies: Lead the development and execution of collaborative marketing initiative with national, regional, and international timber certification bodies. 9. Manage Website Content Strategy: Develop and oversee website content strategy to ensure accurate, informative, transparent, timely, and user-friendly content that aligns with brand messaging, public relations initiatives, and marketing campaigns. 10. Inquiries Management: Oversee a system for responding to inquiries about MTCC, its certification scheme, and activities in a timely and accurate manner. 11. Coordinate and Execute Key Events: Coordinate and execute official functions and other events, particularly those related to the mass media and stakeholder engagement. 12. Conduct Market Research: Conduct market research, analyse competitor strategies, and oversee the implementation of long-term PR and marketing plans to enhance MTCC’s presence, image, branding, and market reach for its certifications. 13. Represent MTCC in Meetings: Represent MTCC as a member of working groups or taskforces in PEFC, the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (MPC), or other relevant industry organisations. 14.
