The feedback, comments and proposals received from the Public Consultation On MC&I For Forest Management Certification (20 May – 19 July 2019) were consolidated and tabled for consideration of the Standards Review Committee (SRC) at its Fifth Meeting held in Penang from 9 to 11 December 2019. All the feedback received were thoroughly deliberated by the SRC and the outcome of the deliberations resulted in the revised standard, the Malaysian Criteria and Indicators for Sustainable forest Management (MC&I SFM). The MC&I SFM that was approved by the MTCC Board of Trustees on 5 March 2020 was launched on 1 April 2020 and will come into force on 1 January 2021 replacing the MC&I (Natural Forest) and MC&I Forest Plantation.v2. The deliberation on the feedback received can be downloaded here.
As the Secretariat, MTCC would like to take this opportunity to thank all stakeholders for the commitment and efforts to participate in the standard review process. We look forward to continuous support and cooperation from all of our esteemed stakeholders to ensure that the sustainable forest management standard remains current, meaningful and acceptable.
