The resolution, which has been brought to the attention of the European Council and the European Commission, also calls for the promotion of mutual recognition of the two global certification schemes.<\/p>\n<p>MTCC is a member of the PEFC since November 2002 and is currently taking steps to submit its scheme for endorsement within the PEFC\u2019s framework for mutual recognition.<br \/>\nThe full resolution adopted by the EU Parliament is available at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/doceo\/document\/A-6-2006-0015_EN.html\">https:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/doceo\/document\/A-6-2006-0015_EN.html<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The European Parliament considers PEFC and FSC certification systems to be equally suitable in providing consumers with assurances of sustainable forest management.
