Since 1999, the Malaysian Timber Certification Council (MTCC) has been advancing sustainable forest management through the Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme (MTCS). Following the scheme\u2019s last re-endorsement in 2021 by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), MTCS standards are now undergoing a review for re-endorsement to align with national and international requirements. This is a part of MTCC\u2019s ongoing commitment to strengthen sustainable forest management practices to ensure long-term sustainable environmental, social, and economic benefits from our forests in Malaysia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure a transparent and participatory process as outlined in MTCS ST 1001:2021 \u2013 Standards Setting Procedures for Forest Management Certification Standards<\/strong>, a multi-stakeholder Standard Review Committee (SRC)<\/strong> will be formed. This committee will be a key platform for enhancing the credibility, inclusivity, and transparency of the MTCS. For your reference, the MTCS ST 1001:2021<\/strong> document can be accessed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
