MTCC is pleased to announce that CSIM Certification Sdn. Bhd. (CSIM) has been accredited as a Certification Body authorised to conduct independent third-party certification of Chain of Custody under the Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme (MTCS). The national accreditation body, STANDARDS MALAYSIA, granted CSIM accreditation on 4 April 2024, following the company’s success in fulfilling the requirements for the Accreditation of Certification Bodies of the PEFC-endorsed scheme.
CSIM Certification Sdn. Bhd. has received PEFC notification and will operate as a PEFC-notified certification Body conducting Chain of Custody certification under the Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme (MTCS). This recognition by MTCC and the PEFC Council allows CSIM to conduct CoC certification audits using the PEFC ST 2002:2020 Chain of Custody of Forest and Tree Based Products – Requirements. CSIM is now authorised to issue PEFC-recognized CoC certificates to companies and organisations registered in Malaysia. CSIM has been assigned the PEFC Trademark Licence number PEFC/34-44-012 and the MTCC Logo Usage Licence number MTCC/44-012.
With the addition of CSIM, the total number of local PEFC-notified CBs operating CoC certification has increased to six, making a total of 20 CoC CBs, both local and international. MTCC congratulates CSIM on this significant achievement and looks forward to seeing more companies in Malaysia become certified under the MTCS.
CSIM is now listed on the PEFC (https://pefc.org/find-certification-bodies) and MTCC (https://mtcc.com.my/certification-bodies/) websites as one of the certification bodies.
