REVIEW OF THE MALAYSIAN CRITERIA AND INDICATORS FOR FOREST MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATION (FOREST PLANTATIONS) [MC&I(FOREST PLANTATIONS)]

THIRD PUBLIC COMMENT (60-DAY)

(Comment Period: 25 July – 22 September 2014)

Three Regional Stakeholder Consultations on Enquiry Draft 2 on the review of the MC&I(Forest Plantations) were conducted in Kuching (8 April), Kota Kinabalu (10 April) and Kuala Lumpur (15 April 2014).

Comments and feedback received from the stakeholders were considered by the Third Meeting of the Standards Review Committee (SRC) held in Kota Kinabalu on 7 – 9 July 2014, resulting in the formulation of Enquiry Draft 3 incorporating changes made at the meeting. The decisions of the SRC on the comments received from the three consultations are tabled in this document.

In accordance with the Process and Proposed Timelines for the Review of MC&I(Forest Plantations), the Enquiry Draft 3 will now be subjected to a third and final 60-day public comment period beginning from 25 July to 22 September 2014.

In this connection, the Secretariat would like to invite you to provide your comments and/or proposals on Enquiry Draft 3, as per the following proposed format:

Comments and feedback received on Enquiry Draft 3 will be considered by the Fourth Meeting of the SRC scheduled to be held in October 2014.
