AUDITOR TRAINING COURSE ON FOREST MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATION

Auditor Training Course on Forest Management Certification under the Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme (MTCS), 9 – 12 July 2018, Kuantan, Pahang

MTCC in collaboration with the Forestry Department Peninsular Malaysia (FDPM) organised an Auditor Training Course on Forest Management Certification under the MTCS on 9 to 12 July 2018 in Kuantan, Pahang.

The course was conducted to train prospective auditors so that they are familiar with and knowledgeable on the requirements of the Malaysian Criteria and Indicators (MC&I) to conduct forest management certification under the MTCS. The training course is mandatory for auditors to fulfil the competency requirements for accreditation of certification body by STANDARDS MALAYSIA.

A total of seven participants from two Certification Bodies and 12 participants from FDPM, Forest Department Sarawak and WWF-Malaysia attended the auditor training course. The course included a one-day mock field audit which was conducted at Lepar Forest Reserve (FR) Pahang FMU – a MTCS-certified FMU since 2001.
